DEAR NURSE...

Before you read another word...

I want you to know who is writing this.

Not a consultant.

Not a business coach.

Not someone who has never worked a day at the bedside.

This is one nurse writing to another.

A nurse with more than 26 years of experience.

A nurse who spent years in OPEN-HEART SURGERY, where a 12-hour shift often became a 24-hour shift because I was on call for the next twelve.

A nurse who became a DIRECTOR OF NURSING.

A nurse who earned a MASTER'S DEGREE.

A nurse who raised TWO CHILDREN while building a career.

A nurse who came to America with THREE DOLLARS in her pocket and had to figure everything out one step at a time.

Most importantly...

A nurse who knows exactly how your life feels.

I know...

Because I lived it.

As you keep reading...

You'll probably smile.

You'll probably laugh.

You may even cry.

Because you're going to read things and quietly say...

"THAT'S ME."

And you'll be right.

Because I'm not guessing.

I'm remembering.

I'm writing this because I always knew that one day I wanted to help my fellow nurses.

I know how hard we work.

I know how much we sacrifice.

I know how often we put everyone else first while quietly putting ourselves last.

After 26 years, I finally asked myself one simple question...

"WHAT ABOUT ME?"

That question changed my life.

Maybe...

It's time to ask yourself the same question.

LET ME GUESS...

I'm going to describe your life.

Not because I'm psychic.

Because I lived it.

Tell me if any of this sounds familiar...

Your alarm goes off before the sun comes up.

You hit snooze.

Twice.

You get dressed half asleep.

Maybe you've even worn TWO DIFFERENT SHOES to work because you were so exhausted.

You spend ten minutes looking for your badge...

Only to realize it's already hanging around your neck.

You drive to work...

Sometimes you don't even remember the drive.

You walk into the hospital.

Before you even put your lunch bag down...

Someone already needs you.

The phone rings.

A patient needs pain medication.

Another patient's blood pressure is dropping.

A doctor is calling.

A family member is looking for you.

Your charge nurse needs you.

Someone called out.

Your assignment changed.

Your coffee?

Cold.

Again.

You tell yourself...

"I'll drink it later."

You never do.

LUNCH?

😂

Thirty minutes.

Sounds great on paper.

Reality?

Fifteen minutes standing in line at the cafeteria.

Doctors.

Nurses.

Visitors.

Maintenance.

Everybody is hungry.

Another ten minutes waiting to pay.

Now you have...

Five minutes.

Five minutes to eat.

Five minutes to use the bathroom.

Hopefully only for NUMBER ONE...

Because there definitely isn't time for NUMBER TWO.

Wash your hands.

Run back upstairs.

Because somebody is already looking for you.

Morning break?

Fifteen minutes.

Enough time to buy breakfast.

Take three bites.

Pray you only have to pee.

Afternoon break?

If you're lucky.

HAVE YOU EVER...

Forgotten to drink water all day?

Held your bladder because there just wasn't time?

Sat in your car after work...

And accidentally fallen asleep before driving home?

Cried in your car?

Not once.

More times than you can count.

Walked into your house smiling...

Pretending everything was okay...

Or maybe you were just too exhausted to pretend anymore.

Dreamed about work?

The patient you couldn't stop thinking about.

The chart you hoped you didn't forget.

The fight with your coworker.

The manager who made your shift miserable.

Heard IV pumps in your sleep?

Woken up at 2:00 AM convinced you forgot to chart something?

Missed birthdays.

Missed Christmas.

Missed Thanksgiving.

Missed New Year's.

Missed your kids' school events.

Filled out vacation requests months in advance...

Wondering if your seniority would finally be enough this year.

Stayed late...

Again.

Because that's what we do.

We stay.

We always stay.

And while everyone tells us we're heroes...

Sometimes...

We're just tired.

ONE MORNING...

Something happened.

Nothing bad.

Nothing dramatic.

Nobody yelled at me.

Nobody made me angry.

I simply woke up...

Looked in the mirror...

And asked myself one question.

WHAT ABOUT ME?

Not my patients.

Not my coworkers.

Not the hospital.

Not the schedule.

Not the staffing.

Not the manager.

Me.

For twenty-six years...

I had taken care of everybody else.

My patients.

Their families.

My coworkers.

The doctors.

My children.

Everybody.

But somewhere along the way...

I forgot to take care of myself.

I wasn't looking for millions of dollars.

I wasn't looking to quit nursing.

I wasn't trying to become famous.

I wanted something much simpler.

BALANCE.

I wanted to drink my coffee while it was still hot.

I wanted to eat lunch because I was hungry...

Not because somebody scheduled thirty minutes for me.

I wanted to wake up without an alarm screaming at me at 4:30 in the morning.

I wanted to see the sun.

I wanted to enjoy Christmas morning with my family.

Thanksgiving dinner.

New Year's Eve.

Birthdays.

Weekend barbecues.

School plays.

Soccer games.

The little moments.

The moments we miss because we're taking care of everyone else.

I wanted to stop asking permission to live my own life.

I wanted to choose when I worked.

I wanted to choose who I worked with.

I wanted to choose my patients.

If someone wasn't respectful...

I wanted to politely say,

"I'm sorry, but I don't think we're the right fit."

I wanted freedom.

Not because I hated nursing.

Because I loved myself enough to finally ask...

WHAT ABOUT ME?

That single question...

Changed my life forever.

Maybe...

Today...

It's your turn to ask yourself the same question.

SO I TOOK A CHANCE...

Was I scared?

Absolutely.

Did I know what I was doing?

Not even close.

I came to America with THREE DOLLARS in my pocket.

No connections.

No roadmap.

No wealthy family.

No business degree.

Just determination.

And maybe a little bit of stubbornness.

I knew one thing...

If other people could build a business...

So could I.

I just didn't know HOW.

So I started learning.

One day at a time.

One mistake at a time.

I hired consultants.

I hired marketing companies.

I paid people to build websites.

I paid people to run my ads.

I bought software.

I bought programs.

Some were amazing.

Some were complete disasters.

I spent TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS trying to figure everything out.

Sometimes I took one step forward...

And three steps backward.

Over...

And over...

And over again.

There were days I questioned everything.

There were days I wanted to quit.

There were days I wondered if I had made the biggest mistake of my life.

But I kept going.

Because quitting was never an option.

Three years later...

Everything finally started making sense.

Not because somebody handed me the answers.

Because I earned every single one of them.

Today...

I know every step.

I know what works.

I know what doesn't.

I know what is worth paying for.

I know what is a complete waste of money.

I know where people get stuck.

I know what mistakes almost everybody makes.

Because I made them first.

And that's exactly WHY I'm writing this.

I don't want you spending the next three years trying to figure out what took me three years to learn.

I don't want you emptying your retirement account because you don't know where to start.

I don't want you wasting money on the wrong people.

I already did that.

Let me save you the time.

Let me save you the money.

Let me save you the frustration.

I'm not here to build your dream for you.

I'm here to show you where the road begins...

And where the dead ends are.

The rest...

You'll build yourself.

And trust me...

If there's one thing I know about nurses...

We ALWAYS figure it out.

IMAGINE...

Imagine waking up because your body is ready...

Not because your alarm went off at 4:30 in the morning.

Imagine making yourself a latte...

Actually sitting down...

And drinking it while it's still hot.

Imagine walking into your beautiful med spa at 10:00 in the morning.

The sun is shining.

The birds are singing.

You're not rushing.

You're not stressed.

You're simply walking into a place YOU built.

Imagine seeing your first patient...

Someone who actually wants to see YOU.

Not because they were assigned to you.

Because they chose you.

Imagine finishing your treatment...

And deciding...

"I'm going to lunch."

Not because the schedule says you have thirty minutes.

Because you feel like it.

Maybe lunch lasts an hour.

Maybe two.

Nobody is timing you.

Nobody is calling overhead asking where you are.

Nobody is watching the clock.

Imagine deciding on a Wednesday afternoon...

"You know what?

I'm going to Las Vegas for four days."

No vacation request.

No seniority list.

No waiting for approval.

No begging someone to switch shifts.

No guilt.

Just...

"See you next week."

Imagine spending EVERY Thanksgiving with your family.

EVERY Christmas morning at home.

EVERY New Year's Eve exactly where you want to be.

Imagine taking your kids to school.

Picking them up.

Going to every recital.

Every soccer game.

Every birthday.

Every graduation.

Imagine having time to take your husband to lunch in the middle of the week.

Or...

Maybe finally having enough time to find one. 😊

Imagine getting your nails done...

Because you actually have time.

Getting a massage...

Because your body deserves it.

Taking a walk around your neighborhood at 9:00 in the morning while everybody else is rushing to work.

Imagine smiling more.

Laughing more.

Sleeping better.

Looking better.

Feeling better.

People start asking...

"Did you do something different?"

Yes.

You finally started choosing yourself.

Because here's the truth...

Freedom isn't about working less.

Freedom is about having a choice.

Choosing your schedule.

Choosing your patients.

Choosing your coworkers.

Choosing your vacations.

Choosing your future.

Choosing your life.

Freedom has no price.

And yes...

Freedom has side effects.

You may start traveling more.

You may start smiling more.

You may become addicted to brunch on a Tuesday.

You may spend a little too much shopping.

You may discover life is actually supposed to be enjoyed...

Not just survived.

Please use responsibly.

Happiness can become very addictive.

MY PROMISE TO YOU...

I'm not promising you'll become wealthy.

I'm not promising overnight success.

I'm not promising that building a business is easy.

Because it isn't.

Your success will depend on YOU.

On your work ethic.

On your determination.

On how badly you want to change your life.

But if there's one thing I know...

It's nurses.

We do the impossible every single day.

We walk into rooms where people are having the worst day of their lives.

We stay calm when everyone else is panicking.

We solve problems.

We adapt.

We learn.

We figure things out.

We save lives.

We've done things most people couldn't imagine doing.

So don't ever tell yourself...

"I don't think I can do this."

You can.

You just don't know HOW yet.

And that's okay.

Nobody is born knowing how to build a business.

Nobody is born knowing how to market.

Nobody is born knowing how to build a website.

Nobody is born knowing how to attract patients.

Nobody is born knowing how to run advertisements.

Nobody is born knowing how to choose the right software.

Nobody is born knowing how to open a med spa.

Those are all SKILLS.

Skills can be learned.

Just like we learned how to start IVs.

Just like we learned how to interpret EKGs.

Just like we learned how to circulate an open-heart surgery.

Just like we learned to become the nurses we are today.

This is no different.

The only difference...

Is that I already walked this road.

I already made the mistakes.

I already spent the money.

I already found the dead ends.

I already know which roads lead nowhere.

And now...

I want to help you get where I am...

In months...

Not years.

Because I truly believe...

Every nurse deserves the chance to build a life with more balance.

More freedom.

More choices.

You don't have to quit your job tomorrow.

Keep your job.

Keep your paycheck.

Keep your security.

Start one day a week.

One patient.

Then another.

Build your confidence.

Build your future.

One step at a time.

One day...

You'll look back...

And you'll smile.

Because you'll realize...

You finally answered the question...

"WHAT ABOUT ME?"

And that...

May be the best decision you ever make.

With love,
